About Me
I’ve been an avid woodworker for more than 30 years specializing in antique restoration, and the creation of unique, fun and useful decorative items. There's much to see here and on our Etsy site, so please take your time to explore, enjoy and reach out with any ideas or questions any time.
How I Started YardsticksRule
Growing up, we always had a yardstick or two, leaning against a closet wall, unused and unloved. Over the years, I've been reminded of my youthful attraction to yardsticks, I suppose because they combine my love of woodworking and the need to measure my work. I've always had a few yardsticks laying around, including in my workshop.
One day, I was repairing an old wooden box, and I happened to have a few pieces of colored yardstick on the bench. It occurred to me that it might be fun to combine the two, and the rest is history. Today, I make a wide range of items with yardsticks of all shapes, content and colors, including boxes, picture frames, tables, and other quirky combinations. It's great fun combining the art of woodworking with my passion for collecting. And it gives my wife hope that one day I will actually run out of yardsticks.
